At The Open Door Christian Church we believe that we are part of the body of Christ and it is our desire to serve God’s people. We accomplish this, in part, through our Congregational Care Ministry which is overseen by our Elders. Our Congregational Care Ministry has a number of different arms that reach into our community.
Visitor Follow-up Care
We value every guest and visitor that joins us in worship and work to make timely contact after a first visit to establish communication and offer information and prayer support.
We seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus by reaching out to those who are unable to participate in our fellowship due to special circumstances. This is accomplished through hospital and home visits, cards and phone calls.
We take prayer very seriously at The Open Door and our Prayer Ministry is one of the most significant parts of our Congregational Care Ministry. All requests for prayer are kept strictly confidential and taken very seriously. We are blessed to have spiritually gifted Christians who have accepted God’s call to pray and intercede on behalf of God’s people.
We provide tangible care in Jesus’ name in the form of meals to the congregation during stressful life events such as the birth of a child, serious illness, hospitalization, and death in the immediate family.
First Call Ministry
First Call is an extension of our Men’s Ministry that seeks to provide a point of first contact when someone in our church family has a question or problem with household tasks or in times of emergency. In the event we are unable to provide assistance to resolve a situation, we work with a network of professionals to get a timely response and resolution.
